Review Mindmap: Great Ways to Contribute to Flood Relief

Book Review: The Truth About Forever - Sarah Dessen

Well after I finished The Truth About Forever, all I do is just sit and stared at this book. And open my favorite part again and again. It was fourth Sarah Dessen that I had read, but this book is one of my favorite book.
Story about this book is about Macy a girl who must be perfect for her family after her dad is dead and she saw how her Dad died. Then finally she met Wes, a boy who taught her how life isn’t perfect at all.
The moral about this book is life isn’t perfect. Everyone has their own dark secret and they will hide it with their perfection –with make they a perfect one- until they realized that wasn’t easy and they give up right? But the truth is if you can accept the imperfection one then i think you will feel your life is perfect. And back to book I really emphatized with Macy because I had that feeling too that I have to strive for perfection that makes me lose focuse on thing that matter.
And about this book, i think Dessen really make her story really flow and not hard to read for teenagers. About Dessen’s book again, i like her story that usually take a simple plot but can filled it with complex character and a deep story. And The Truth About Forever –i think- more deeper than her others book because this book it tell how usually teenagers think they must perfect and others but the truth there no perfection, because imperfection makes it perfect. So you better read this book, highly recomendation!

Someone I Admire: Sarah Dessen

Everybody in their life always have someone that always their admire, including me. From their family, friends until an actress or actor. Well, someone first that I admirer of course Nabi Muhammad S.A.W. but now I’m not gonna tell about him. I’m going to tell about Sarah Dessen, my favorite author. She’s usually writes about teenagers life, which make her story really a life one. She has published her book around ther world like French and Germany. She has published 12 book, and one of them had translated to Bahasa Indonesia. Well, my favorite book are The Truth About Forever and A Long For The Ride.

Well, now Sarah Dessen live in Chapel Hill, North Calorina. She was born in Evanston, Illinois at 6 June, 1970. Now her age is 42 years old. Well she has one daughter and one husband. Their name Sasa and Jay. Well, she has two dogs, too. Her father is one of the professor of English at the University of North Carolina. Her mother too is one of the professor at the University of North Carolina. Her brother is a musician. Even as a child Sarah love to read and write. She often read Lois Lowry and Judy Blume. The first that she published is That Summer. A Long For The Ride one of her book that made New York Time Best Sellers List.

The Truth About Forever is one of my favorite book like I’ve said before. Well story of book is someone who felt that she must be perfect to be someone, but after she met Wes she learned that life isn’t must be perfect. Cause imperfect make it perfectly. Dreamland, one of her book too, is interesting too. It is about a girl name Cass and then he met Rogerson. Then he became her boyfriend but one day he started violence her. So, I think this book that really alive one than the others book. I recommended this! Well the others book that I’ve read is Just Listen. This book, it tell us that if you see someone life look like a perfect one, the truth is they don’t. Because everyone, always have a trouble in their life and we must honest to say it.

Well, I think Sarah Dessen is famous because she has a characteristic that can tell to the reader ‘this my book, you can feel it’. Because everytime I read her book, that always have a same feeling or something like that. Like her English that so simply not hard, easy to understand. Then the story that usually we face it everyday. In her book too, she always made the solution form the trouble she make. This solution too, can we apply in real life. So like in the her story that we learn to be a better person, to be a right one, like she told us. Well maybe that’s why her book is so I think famous one.

I wish that her book, all of her book, was translated into Bahasa Indonesia. So, we – the teenagers- can read it and take the message so we can learn and make a better teenager. To buy her book is quit harder in Indonesia. I think I just find her book in Kinokuniya Jakarta or Singapore. But I highly recommended her book!

Narrative Text: The Hole

“Well, this hole quite interesting right?” said Maggie to August.

“Yeah, I know. But can we just go back to the camp?” August answer.

“Yeah, but.. I don’t know I just want to be here little longer. Curious what’s in the hole..”

“But Maggs, maybe Mrs. Valen hurry about us now because we didn’t come to the camp about five minutes ago?”

“Fine fine!” said Maggie.

And then August and Maggie walked away from the hole, but suddenly Maggie heard something from their back and saw a shinny light blue from the hole. After debated a while with August, Maggie won and they came back again to
that hole.

“Well, Im curious about what… wait what’s that? Is that a rock?” said Maggie

Well August just shake his head,

“Well I don’t know, can we just go back pleaseee?” asked August.

Before they went back to the camp, Maggie took the rock. She was saved it, but August didn’t agree. He thought she better left the rock in the hole where it was supposed to be. And Maggie just pretended that she was leave it but the truth she kept the rock with her.

After they arrived at the camp they prepared to back to their own home. After 2 weeks participated summer camp at Arizona, they just wanted to go home. Actually, they were home-sick. Need 3 hours, from Arizona to their home. Then after the long tripped, they arrived to their own home.

August went to his home and when he arrived he felt so sleepy, and he decided to sleep.  While he slept, he dreamed about Maggie and the hole. It was like the hole pulled her in the hole. Like the hole has a energy that can pulled her inside.  August woke up.

He run into her house and found that her family still there. He asked them about Maggie but then they said they didn’t have a daughter name Maggie and they didn’t know him. They –Maggie’s family- wondered why a strange boy knew them. They didn’t remember anything about Maggie. Maggie was gone, said August in his heart.
